Every competitor eligible to receive the COVID-19 Vaccination is highly encouraged to do so as recommended by the CDC. Masks are encouraged for those unvaccinated or children under the age of 12 in any building on the HYC Grounds.  Masks shall cover the nose and mouth to be worn properly. 
All vessels participating in an HYC Event shall be equipped according to the US Coast Guard Regulations, and applicable class or event or program rules.  All Junior event participants shall wear a US Coast Guard approved personal flotation device properly fastened, at all times while launching and when sailing, except briefly when adding or removing clothing, failure to comply with this rule may result in disqualification.  Each competitor is urged to have a whistle attached to their PFD.  A boat retiring from a race shall notify a Race Committee vessel before leaving the course, or when that is impossible, at the registration table immediately after arrival ashore. 

In addition for Junior Events:

An adult (coach, parent, guardian or designated adult) is responsible for the safety of each sailor. It is the responsibility solely of this adult to decide if the sailor should sail in the weather and sea conditions that might arise during the event. The adults supervising the competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks.

Parents not personally attending the event must ensure that another adult is authorized and designated to make these decisions for their sailor and each competitor shall indicate in writing the parent or adult representative that shall be responsible for the competitor throughout the event.

The designated adult will accept full responsibility for all actions of the competitor during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the Regatta.

All Skippers participating in an HYC Event shall complete a COVID-19 Waiver prior to competing or participating in any event.  Documentation of COVID-19 Waivers is retained by the Sailing Director at HYC
