Rule Dominates TAYC!
Amelon Rule came out swinging winning the first race of Saturday at Tred Avon’s Junior Regatta this past weekend. She followed up with several strong finishes to have only 14 points in the six race event. She beat second place finisher AYC’s Daniel Draper by eight points. HRRT teammate Leila Pfrang also had a great event but was scored OCS in Race 5 which dropped her out of second place to fifth overall. However, she recovered quickly winning race 6! HYC is overwhelmingly proud of these girls and know they will continue to bring the HRRT! Tred Avon had a thirty boat Opti fleet.
Brown and Hasbrouck Finish 3rd!
Crew Ellie Hasbrouck and helm Tyler Brown have been working all summer building their skill set in the c420 class. The duo were fortunate to receive excellent coaching throughout the summer from Nathan Smith and Matt Peters. Tyler and Ellie have worked very hard to maximize their boat speed and this past weekend at Tred Avon their hard work is starting to pay dividends taking third place in the sixteen boat fleet! Tyler and Ellie had multiple seconds and won the last race of the regatta! Great job y’all!
Pfrang Finishes Second
The battle between SSA’s Robbie Meek and Kyle Pfrang has been going on all summer! Pfrang certainly has an edge in light air, Robbie, however, is a little older and taller making him have an advantage in the heavy air. Sunday at TAYC was windy! So even though Robbie was in his element Kyle was chasing at his heals with many second and third place finishes in the twenty five boat fleet. Overall, Kyle finished a very respectable second in the event. Well sailed!
