Individuals desiring election to membership in the Hampton Yacht Club must, through their primary sponsor, submit a completed Hampton Yacht Club application form to the Club Secretary. An application may be signed out either through the primary sponsor or the club manager. The candidate must complete and return the application along with the initiation fee to the primary sponsor, who then returns the application to the Club. Each completed application shall contain the signatures of the primary and secondary sponsors as well as the names of two additional member references. The application must also be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from the primary sponsor.
The application is presented to the Board of Director at the following board meeting. If approved by the Board of Directors, the Secretary shall post the candidate’s application for thirty days after which the Board of Directors shall act on the application with eight affirmative votes required to elect the candidate.
